The Master of Integrated Water Management creates water leaders by drawing on international teaching and research from many fields to provide a trans-disciplinary, whole-of-water-cycle approach to water management.The program aims to build the capacity of future leaders in water management, with an emphasis on professionals working in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and development, urban water management, across water, land and people and in water finance for the achievement of sustainable development goals. The program equips students with practical tools and skills for developing and managing the adoption of innovative solutions to local, regional, national and international water management issues. Students will develop the strategic, managerial and technical skills they need to advance in the water sector.The program is managed and led by the International WaterCentre (IWC). The IWC is a key capacity building organisation in the global water sector and dedicated to providing education and training to promote whole-of-water cycle approaches to integrated water management around the world.<ul><li>Graduate Certificate in Integrated Water Management – 3346 </li></ul>Note: Progression is dependent upon satisfying admission requirements.

Project Management: Principles and Strategies

The application of knowledge, skills and tools learned from other units within the MSc (Project Management) program to a project. This entails the integrative management of scope, time, cost, quality, risk, communication, procurement, human resources and risk. Research skills are used to independently solve problems in an authentic professional environment.

Project Management Integrated Project

This subject aims to present a coherent view on the role of knowledge and strategic information management in organisations from a multidisciplinary perspective. Students will gain an appreciation of the sources of information, unstructured and semi-structured knowledge and learn current techniques that permit knowledge and information to be applied to perform organisational activities. This subject will provide students with an understanding of how to strategically manage and govern the ICT function in business organisations. It builds on themes relating to managing ICT as an organisational resource and discusses the ICT function from strategy and governance perspectives. Students will develop skills and knowledge relating to the use of the latest technologies for managing information and knowledge and how to strategically manage and govern the ICT function in business organisations. The subject also emphasises the relationship between theoretical knowledge and its practical application using a real organisation.

Knowledge and Information Strategic Management

The subject will provide you with advanced knowledge in the pharmacological management of diseases within the context of advanced practice. This will also include the areas of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, as they apply to the therapeutic management of conditions relevant to advanced practice. You will develop a sound understanding of the quality use of medicines, and some familiarity with Poisons and Therapeutics Goods Act and Regulations, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and medication management for advanced practitioners.

Advanced Pharmacology & Medication Management

Project Management for Health Professionals provides students with the foundational knowledge required to appreciate and implement practical approaches to project management in health sciences. Students will extend their skills in the utilisation of research evidence to refine and deepen their understanding of the processes involved in project management. This subject has a focus on developing the strategies necessary to initiate, plan, implement, evaluate, finalise and disseminate the results of a health sciences project.

Project Management for Health Professionals

This subject aims to provide a broad understanding of the key leadership functions of organisational and clinical governance, and risk management within health and human services. These concepts have grown in significance across health and human services - driven by the need for assurance from the public, providers, funders, accreditation agencies, and governments, that services are delivered safely and that they meet organisational and quality standards.This subject begins with an introduction and overview of the concepts of governance, risk and risk management, including relevant conceptual and theoretical frameworks. You will explore the practical implementation of governance and risk management frameworks and strategies with an emphasis on real-world application of best practice, empowering you to lead initiatives and to drive positive change in your workplace by fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement. You will be challenged to reflect on your own professional practice and leadership capacity, as you gain insights into how effective governance and leadership approaches can shape the rapidly evolving health and human service landscape.

Risk Management and Governance

This subject explores the interconnected domains of health policy, law, ethics, strategy and financial management, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to navigate complex health and human service environments. You will evaluate policy initiatives, critically analyse legal and ethical challenges, and apply strategic and financial principles to lead organisational, community and system improvements. Emphasising a work-integrated-learning approach, the subject will guide you to apply theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence to real-world challenges within your workplaces, building your capability to make informed decisions and to lead with impact in a rapidly evolving context. Through a deepening of your reflective leadership practice and collaborative problem-solving skills, you will also develop strategies to address professional, organisational, and community issues, fostering resilient systems and a commitment to ongoing leadership development.

Management in Health and Human Services

This subject focuses on clinical practice within the community and urgent care setting encompassing both primary and secondary health care needs. The subject integrates knowledge from structured clinical examination and diagnostics to inform diagnoses across complex chronic health conditions and those with common, acute or chronic primary health care needs. The subject explores evidence-based approaches to develop management plans and pathways of care in primary, secondary and community health care systems. The subject expands on patient-clinician communication, health literacy considerations, and the impact of social determinants of health while considering contemporary issues surrounding primary, secondary and community health care practice.

Integrated Community Care

This subject develops advanced knowledge and capabilities for assessment, monitoring and management of special patient populations with acute or complex medical or trauma emergencies in the critical care and retrieval setting. You will further develop your clinical reasoning and decision-making skills, incorporating the principles of advanced pharmacology, contemporary evidence-based advanced practice, and ethical considerations for providing systematic, safe and effective critical care.

Management of Special Populations in Critical Care and Retrieval

This subject focuses on advanced symptom management and communication strategies in cancer care, preparing nurses to recommend evidence-based approaches to prevent and minimise the side effects of cancer treatments, optimising patient function and comfort. Students will learn to develop patient-centred, comprehensive care plans in collaboration with patients, their caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to enhance quality of life. The unit covers various approaches to effective, timely, and context-specific communication, emphasising the importance of legal and ethical frameworks in end-of-life decision-making.
